  • Sheikh Imam Malik is a renowned Islamic scholar and the Chief Judge of the Islamic Court. He was born in Jos State. He is an intelligent Islamic scholar and also a well-educated man in Western education. Allah has blessed him with abundant wealth. Sheikh Imam is widely known for justice, trustworthiness, compassion, and mercy. He is highly skilled in Islamic jurisprudence. He is a man of firm principles regarding his religion, and once he makes a statement, he never retracts it. Many people involved in serious crimes fear Sheikh Imam Malik’s court because they know his character—he does not accept bribes. Everyone must receive judgment according to what they have sown, no matter who they are or whose child they may be. However, despite his strictness, he is gentle and easygoing with those who know how to relate with him.

His first wife was Malama Fatima Batool, who was his cousin—his paternal uncle’s daughter—resident in Sudan. Their parents arranged the family marriage, and by Allah’s will their hearts became united, and strong love developed between them, leading to their marriage. They lived together in trust and harmony because their views aligned. He greatly enjoyed life with her because of her good character and constant obedience to him. When she became pregnant, his joy was beyond description, and he never tired of praying that Allah would grant her a safe delivery. After giving birth, she returned to her Creator, leaving behind the infant daughter she bore for him. Sheikh Imam felt her loss deeply; despite all his patience and reliance on Allah, he shed tears over the great loss he suffered.

The upbringing of his daughter was entrusted to his aunt, his mother’s younger sister. At that time, his parents were no longer alive, and she took care of the child until she began to grow.

Later on, his uncle in Sudan offered him the hand of his late wife’s younger sister, Aunty Laura, during one of Sheikh Imam’s visits to Sudan. At that time, Sheikh Imam had no intention of remarrying because he had not yet healed from the pain of losing his wife. However, because Aunty Laura was the blood sister of Malama Batool, he agreed to marry her.

One month after their marriage, the upbringing of Aisha returned to Aunty Laura. She cared for her faithfully as if she were her own biological child, loving Aisha deeply. This was because Aisha shared the same bloodline and bore a striking resemblance to her elder sister, Malama Batool. The care she gave her was so complete that no one would know Aisha was not her biological daughter unless told.

Indeed, Sheikh Imam Malik made a great effort in raising his daughter properly. He stood firmly by her to ensure she succeeded in both worldly life and the Hereafter. Her character and behavior were entirely like his, except for one thing—her heart. She possessed extraordinary patience like her mother, Malama Batool. As the Hausa saying goes, a child inherits beauty from the father—Aisha inherited qualities from both her father and her mother, Malama Batool.

Sheikh Imam placed all his worldly hopes on her. He never loved anything the way he loved Aisha. She was the only child Allah blessed him with, and there was no form of privilege or care he did not give her.

Aishatu is a woman of complete perfection—modest, disciplined, and highly refined. Finding a young woman with the level of knowledge Allah bestowed upon her is rare in this world. She memorized the Holy Qur’an at the age of thirteen. Many people praise her for her kindness toward them; her good manners and conduct are exemplary for every woman, and she is the dream of every man to have a wife like her.

She avoids anything that may displease her Creator. She is compassionate and loves helping others, never tiring of serving her religion.

She is admired by mothers and married women alike, and she is also a role model for young women.

From a young age, she began teaching at her father’s Islamic school called Madarasatul Fatima Batool, located near their home. She delivers sermons and engages in da‘wah (Islamic propagation) to those who do not believe in Allah. Through Aisha, Sheikh Imam Malik attained honor beyond his expectations. She protected his dignity and elevated his status and respect in the eyes of the world. Often, he would not even know that she had done something until he received a phone call or visitors came to his house to thank him for the good deeds Aisha had done. He would be amazed, filled with joy, then call her and ask what she had done. She would then tell him about the rewards she received from Qur’anic recitation competitions and the gifts people gave her because of the joy they felt from her sermons.

Whenever she brought him money to buy something, he refused to accept it. Instead, she saved the money, and when it accumulated, she used it to support the less privileged. She frequently visited hospitals, prisons, and orphanages, providing food and clothing. When she had no money to give, she offered them heartfelt sermons and sincere advice that touched their hearts. That is why Sheikh Imam Malik deeply cherishes Aisha and loves her immensely. She, too, has no one more beloved to her than her father. She obeys him completely, avoids anything that would upset him, and constantly strives to do whatever pleases his heart.
